BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University baseball team (4-15, 1-11 Appalachian Athletic Conference) fell 9-7 to Campbellsville (13-7, 0-0 Mid-South Conference) Tuesday at Jerry Carey Stadium.

Campbellsville took an early lead in the top of the second inning with a two-RBI single.

The Bulldogs responded in the bottom half of the inning when Nate Adkins singled to center field to score Isaiah Pintor. Roberto Gallardo followed with an RBI single of his own to bring home Adkins and tie the game at 2-2.

The Tigers regained the lead in the top of the third inning on another two-RBI single to go ahead 4-2.

Union cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the inning when Pintor laid down a well-placed RBI bunt that scored Max Charlton, making it 4-3.

The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when Adkins delivered a two-RBI triple to left-center field, putting Union ahead 5-4.

Campbellsville responded by scoring five runs across the sixth through eighth innings to reclaim the lead at 9-5.

Union attempted a late rally in the bottom of the eighth. Noah Young drove in Aiden Wilson with an RBI single before Pintor doubled down the left-field line to score Young and cut the deficit to 9-7. Despite the push, the Bulldogs were unable to complete the comeback.
