Union Baseball drops conference twinbill at Bryan

Dayton, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth University baseball team (3-2) opened conference play Friday at Bryan (2-7) in Dayton, Tennessee. The Bulldogs fell 7-0 and 9-4.

Game 1: Union Commonwealth 0, Bryan 7

  • In the top of the first inning, Joaquin Gutierrez and Aiden Wilson each recorded a single for the Bulldogs.

  • Gutierrez added another single in the sixth inning and led off the ninth with his third hit of the game. Isaiah Pintor followed with a single of his own, but Union was unable to push a run across.

Game 2: Union Commonwealth 4, Bryan 9

  • Max Charlton put Union on the board in the top of the second inning with a solo home run.

  • Brysen Vernon added a solo home run in the fifth inning. Later in the frame, Sheppard Graf delivered an RBI double to score Gutierrez and move Pintor to third. 

  • Pintor crossed the plate in the seventh inning following a Bryan error.
