Union baseball drops midweek matchup at No. 9 Cumberlands

Williamsburg, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University baseball team hit the road for a midweek clash against No. 9 Cumberlands on Tuesday. They fell 14-4 in seven innings.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs tallied 10 hits on the day. Brendan Hillis led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, adding a run scored. Tucker Allen also made an impact, going 2-for-3 with a home run, one run scored, and three RBIs.

Max Charlton, Jayden Gonzalez, Nick Seelman, Aaron Barrera, and Raebert De Los Santos each added a hit. Gonzalez also homered and finished with one RBI and a run scored, while Isaiah Pintor crossed the plate once as well.

Eli Sizemore got the start on the mound, striking out two. He was followed by Nathan Van Beek, Tanner Hayes, Cameron Schuster, Braylon Greene, and Gunner Bleha, who all saw time in relief.

The Bulldogs are now 16-26 this season, while Cumberlands is 37-6. Up next for Union is an away conference matchup at Pikeville on Friday, April 18, at 3:00 p.m.
