Baseball wins 13-5 at Campbellsville
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Union College baseball team won 13-5 in nine innings at Campbellsville on Tuesday. The Bulldogs tallied 13 hits and 11 RBIs in the game.
Union trailed 2-1 after three innings of play, but the Bulldogs recorded seven runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 8-2 lead.
Campbellsville was able to trim Union's lead down to three runs, but the Bulldogs scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning en route to a 13-5 win.
Union's Angel Mendoza and Luke Powell each recorded a home run in the matchup to go along with a team-leading three hits.
A combined 12 strikeouts were tallied by Union's pitchers. Trevor Gould, who is now 3-0 this season, was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are now 9-1-1 this season, while Campbellsville is 3-8.
Union is scheduled to host Rochester University this weekend in a four-game series that is slated to begin on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
