Lakeside Athletic Training Center

The Union Commonwealth University Sports Medicine staff has two training rooms at its deposal with the one in the Athletic Complex at the Lakeside Center serving as the staff's main office of operation. The other training room is located in Robsion Arena so that the staff can better serve and meet the needs of the Union Commonwealth University basketball and volleyball teams.

At Lakeside, the training room center has several amenities and state-of-the-art equipment readily available to meet the staff's and student-athletes' needs. Housed at this facility is:

  • One Automated External Defibrillator;

  • A medical station;

  • Three ultrasound machines;

  • Two large hydrocollators;

  • Rehabilitation and core stability tools;

  • Restroom and laundry facilities;

  • Five treatment tables;

  • One universal strengthening machine;

  • A three-station taping area;

  • Two electrical stimulation machines;

  • Functional rehabilitation and strengthening area;

  • A wet area with whirlpool and stand, ice machine and coolers;

  • One John Deere Gator;

  • Two weight scales;

  • An office area;

  • And a storage area.

Robsion Arena

The training room at Robsion Arena provides the Union Commonwealth University Sports Medicine staff a second office to work out of and helps them more easily meet the needs of the Union basketball and volleyball teams. Housed at this facility is:

  • One Automated External Defibrillator;

  • A five-station taping area;

  • One electronic muscle stimulation machine;

  • A large hydrocollator;

  • Restroom, shower and laundry facilities;

  • Rehabilitation and core stability tools;

  • Three treatment tables;

  • One ultrasound machine;

  • A wet area with whirlpool, and ice machine;

  • Functional rehabilitation and strengthening area;

  • And an office area.
