BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College women's soccer team put up a valiant effort, but it was to no avail as visiting Reinhardt (Ga.) came away with the 3-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win Saturday.

The loss drops Union to 0-12-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the AAC, while Reinhardt is now 5-6-2 overall and 4-2-1 in league play.

The Bulldogs had strong pressure early in the game with Zhoreen Malik (FR/Nairobi, Kenya) firing a shot just wide and Sarah North (SO/Basingstoke, England) putting one on frame. However, the Lady Eagles found the back of the net in the 12th minute when Adrien Merrilles sent a nice centering pass to Victoria Cassidy, who buried the shot from eight-yards out.

Both teams had their chances the rest of the half, but Reinhardt went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Bulldogs kept pressing, getting eight shots off but only two going on goal. The Lady Eagles managed to get launch four shots in the second half, but three were on goal with two going in.

Katie Goodrich collected both second-half tallies, scoring in the 53rd and 67th minutes in sealing the 3-0 win for Reinhardt.
