LAURINBURG, Ky. – Elle Barnett (SR/Lexington, Ky.) hammered home a season-high 17 kills on Saturday, but it was not enough as Union College fell 3-1 to host St. Andrews (N.C.) in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.

The 25-22, 21-25, 21-52, 15-25 loss drops Union to 21-7 overall and 9-2 in league, while St. Andrews is now 12-7 overall and 8-4 in the AAC.

"We are starting to let little things and adversity get to us," said head coach Jeremy Wise. "We have been doing a great job stepping up all year, but we let go of the rope today."

Barnett posted the 17 kills and had a .351 hitting percentage and was one kill shy of equaling her career best.

Rachel Andrews (SR/Louisville, Ky.) added 10 kills, but the rest of the Bulldogs combined to have only 17 kills as the team had 44 on the day and a .096 hitting percentage.

Other highlights for Union including Carson Gray (JR/Alexandria, Ky.) registering 20 assists, marking the second match in a row with 20 or more helpers. Paulina Hileman (SR/Johnstown, Colo.) recorded her 500th dig of the season in coming up with 29, giving her 528 for 2017.
