BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College head men's soccer coach Jonathan Shaw announced the addition of two Jamaican players for the upcoming 2017 season.

The Bulldogs welcome two junior college transfers in Rushane McClymont and Donja Smith.

The duo will bring depth to the team's defense and wing positions. The athletes played together in high school while in Jamaica.

"Rushane is a player I have wanted for last two years here at Union," Coach Shaw states. "I am very happy he is coming to Union with two years left to play. He is a big dominant central defender and reads the game very well".

On Smith, Shaw said, "Donja is a winger who is very lively and creative. Going forward, he is going to cause a lot of headaches to defenders. I'm looking forward to seeing the creativity he will bring to our team".

Smith has been a representative for the Jamaican U20 National team and scored two goals for the national squad.

Union is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2016 NAIA National Championship Tournament, finishing with a 19-3-2 overall record and ranked No. 7.
