BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College head football coach Andre Linn announced the 2017 schedule for the Bulldogs. The first season for Linn at the helm features 10 regular-season contests and changes in the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

The MSC now boasts 20 teams in the league for football, and the teams are split among three divisions – the Bluegrass Division, the Appalachian Division, and the Sun Division. Union is in the Appalachian Division along with Bluefield (Va.), Cumberlands (Ky.), Point (Ga.), Pikeville (Ky.), Reinhardt (Ga.), and St. Andrews (N.C.).

"The Mid-South Conference has always been one of the top conferences in the NAIA, and it becomes even more so now," said Linn. "Mid-South Conference teams have done well in postseason play in large part to having to go up against such tough competition every week during the regular season."

In addition to the six games against the rest of the Appalachian Division, Union will play two from the Sun Division and two from the Bluegrass Division.

Union opens the season at home on Aug. 26 against Southeastern (Fla.) before traveling to Ave Maria (Fla.) on Sept. 2. On Sept. 9, the Bulldogs visit the Knights of Kentucky Christian. Union wraps up the out-of-divisional play portion of its schedule on Sept. 16 when it hosts Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).

On Sept. 30, Union opens Appalachian Division play at Cumberlands in the annual "Battle for the Brass Lantern." The rest of the slate unfolds as such: Oct. 14 at Reinhardt; Oct. 21 versus Pikeville; Oct. 28 at Bluefield; Nov. 4 versus St. Andrews; and Nov. 11 versus Point.

Homecoming is Oct. 21 when Pikeville is in town. Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m.
