BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College shined on senior day as the Bulldogs fought for the last win of the regular season. It was a battle between the Bulldogs and the Buffaloes, but Union got the 10-8 win for the final game in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series.

With the win, Union ends the regular season with a 27-22 overall mark, 14-13 in the AAC. Also, the Bulldogs sewed up the AAC's No. 5 seed for the upcoming AAC Tournament. Milligan will end the year at 23-27, 11-16 in the AAC.

Ronnie Healy (SR/Jupiter, Fla.) kicked the game off with a two-run home run for his 13th of the year and 21st of his career.

Milligan tied things up in the second, but wouldn't stay tied up for long as Bruce Valentin (SR/Bronx, N.Y.) hit his fifth home run of the season to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead.

But that lead was short lived for Union as Milligan scored three runs in the top of the fifth to go up 5-3. After another Buffalo run in the sixth made it a 6-3 game, Union got two back in the bottom of the seventh as Francisco Ogando (JR/Bronx, N.Y.) doubled in a pair of runs, closing in with a 6-5 deficit.

Milligan added another run to make it 7-5 in the top of the eighth, but in the bottom of the frame, the Bulldogs took control, scoring five runs to grab the lead back at 10-7. Valentin had a two-run double during the rally.

The Buffaloes scored the final run, but it wouldn't be enough as the damage had already been done as Union won 10-8.

Overall, Valentin ended the day going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored. Elsewhere, Healy and Ogando both tallied three RBIs apiece, while Zane Britton (SO/Greeneville, Tenn.) had a perfect 2-for-2 in the win.
