BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – For the second time this season, Union College junior Stephen Gray (JR/Louisville, Ky.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The Louisville, Ky., native previous received the award on March 25.

Gray and the Bulldogs recently competed at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational, and he set two school records and posted three top-six finishes.

In the discus, Gray placed sixth, but his throw of 41.39 meters (135 feet, 9.5 inches) surpassed the previous school record by 10.5 inches. Gray also scored a school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.14 meters (151 feet, 4.5 inches) as he took second in the event. His throw was 4.36 meters off from qualifying for nationals.

Gray also posted a fifth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 13.38 meters.

Union returns to action on Friday at the Centre College (Ky.) Twilight event.
