BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College sophomore Mykelle Andrews (SO/Louisville, Ky.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Andrews and the Bulldogs recently competed at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational, and she recorded three third-place finishes. The Louisville, Ky., native crossed the line third in the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter dash, and the 4x100 relay.

In the 200, Andrews clocked a time of 25.65 seconds to take third. The time was a mere 0.36 seconds off her school-record time.

Andrews clocked a time of 59.51 in the 400, and then joined forces with Olivia Whatley (SO/Douglasville, Ga.), Khora George (FR/Columbus, Ga.), and Autumn Crump (JR/Marion, Ark.) for the 4x100 relay. In the relay, Union posted a time of 49.67 seconds, which was only 0.6 seconds off the school record that was set two weeks prior.

This is the first time this season Andrews has received the award, but she earned it three times during freshman campaign in 2015.

Union returns to action on Friday at the Centre College (Ky.) Twilight event.
