BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College baseball team battled with Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday afternoon, but the visiting Tigers were able to pull off a late rally by the Bulldogs to record a 13-8 victory.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 21-14 overall, while Georgetown improved to 25-10 with the victory.

Georgetown scored early in the first to take a 2-0 lead and then moved to a 4-0 lead scoring two more in the second. Union would bring a run across on a wild pitch to close the gap 4-1 in the second. The third would be as successful for the Tigers as Andrew Paz hit a two-run home run as part of a three-run third, bringing the score to 7-1.

The bottom of the third saw Francisco Ogando (JR/Bronx, N.Y.) hit a two-run home run of his own to make it 7-3. After a scoreless inning for the Tigers, Daniel Neal (SO/London, Ky.) stepped up in the bottom of the fourth to hit his first home run of his Bulldog career to close the gap to 7-4.

In the bottom of the fifth, Union fought to tie things up after Ronnie Healy (SR/Jupiter, Fla.) lined a RBI double to score the first run, followed by a wild pitch to score the second, and grounder to score the third.

But, in the top of the sixth, the Tigers rallied, taking back the lead in scoring three runs to bringing the score 10-7. Union cut the margin to 10-8 in the bottom of the sixth when J.C. Pena (SR/Perth Amboy, N.J.) scored on a double play, but that was all Union could get across the plate the rest of the way. In the remaining innings, Georgetown added a run in each to make the final 13-8.

Overall, the Bulldogs pounded out 11 hits, with five players having multiple-hit contests.

Bruce Valentin (SR/Bronx, N.Y.), Joe Gaines (SO/London, Ky.), Healy and Ogando each went 2-for-5, while Neal finished 2-for-4. Neal and Ogando added two RBIs apiece.
