DANVILLE, Ky. – The Union College men's and women's track & field teams posted modest finishes at the Centre College (Ky.) Invitational on Saturday with the men finishing with 13th and the women seventh.

The Union women tallied 41 total points to land seventh out of 16 teams. Ohio Northern won with 168 points with host Centre placing second at 91 points.

Mykelle Andrews (SO/Louisville, Ky.) posted the lone first-place finish for the Bulldog women, taking the prize in the 200-meter dash. She posted a time of 25.72 seconds, edging second-place Tyra Barnes of Wittenberg (Ohio) by 0.22 seconds.

Andrews was also a member of the 4x100 relay team which placed fourth. Olivia Whatley (SO/Douglasville, Ga.), Auji Williams, and Autumn Crump (JR/Marion, Ark.) joined Andrews to record a time of 50.59 seconds, a mere 1.07 behind winner Kentucky State.

Other top finishers for the Union women include:

  • Katie Herdman (JR/New Carlisle, Ohio), second in 100-meter hurdles (15.94);
  • Jar'Nae Dobson (SO/Huntsville, Ala,), eighth in 400-meter dash (1:02.25);
  • Whatley, second in 400-meter hurdlers (1:06.12);
  • Ta'Leah Adams (FR/Madison, Ga.), sixth in the shot put (11.18 meters);
  • Molly Diamon (JR/Independence, Ky.), seventh in the discus throw (31.95 meters);
  • Crump, fourth in the high jump (1.47 meters).

The Union men notched 26 total points to tie for 13th out of 17 team. Case Western (Ohio) won the even with 122 points, while Ohio Northern scored 117.5 points to take second.

All of the Bulldogs points were scored in the field events with Jerome Morgan Jr. (FR/Rossville, Ga.) scoring a first-place finish in the triple jump. He posted a distance of 13.62 meters, beating second-place Brayden Russell of Campbellsville (Ky.) by 0.48 meters.

Other top finishers for the Union men include:

  • Stephen Gray (JR/Louisville, Ky.), fifth in the shot put (13.65 meters);
  • Gray, seventh in the discus throw (39.79 meters);
  • Morgan, eighth in the long jump (6.25 meters);
  • Michaiah Winfield (FR/Atlanta, Ga.), second in the high jump (1.89 meters).
