BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College's Tyler Graham (FR/Hopkinsville, Ky.) continued his hot bat on day two of the series going 2-for-4 from the plate with a three-run home run and four RBIs to guide the Bulldogs to the 13-4 victory over Truett McConnell (Ga.) to complete the three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series.

With the victory, Union pushes their record to 18-11 on the season, and now are 7-5 in the AAC, as Truett McConnell fell to 21-12, 5-7 in the AAC with the loss.

It was neck and neck in the beginning as the Bears scored two runs in the top of the first inning with the Bulldogs following suit with two runs of their own. Union's runs came after back-to-back walks to Chris Lane (JR/Battle Ground, Wash.) and Bruce Valentin (SR/Bronx, N.Y.) and by a wild pitch to advance the runners. Francisco Ogando (JR/Bronx, N.Y.) lined a single to score both the runners, pulling the Bulldogs even at 2-all.

The following innings would remain quiet for both teams until the fifth when Truett McConnell scored one run. Union answered back with two in the bottom of the fifth to grab a 4-3 lead thanks to a Ronnie Healy (SR/Jupiter, Fla.) two-run single.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in each the sixth and seventh inning. In the eighth, Union rallied for five run to up its lead to 13-4. Bruce Valetin delivered a two-RBI single in the sixth, while Joe Gaines (SO/London, Ky.) tripled in the seventh to drive in a run and later scored on Graham's double.

Graham added a three-run home run as part of the five-run eighth inning as the Bulldogs locked up the 13-4 victory.

Union recorded 15 hits on the contest with Gaines going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Healy, Ogando and Valentin each had two hits and two RBIs. Austin Dingee (JR/Bay City, Mich.) collected the win, tossing 4 2/3 innings in relief and allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Talon Kunkel (SR/Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) collected the save, tossing the final 2 1/3 innings and surrendering no runs on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Patrick Overstreet led Truett McConnell at the plate as he had two home runs with two RBIs in going 3-for-3.
