BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Francisco Ogando (JR/Bronx, N.Y.)'s 3-for-4, four RBIs performance at the dish helped the Union College baseball team complete the three-game sweep of the Appalachian Athletic Conference series against Bluefield (Va.) on Sunday.

With the victory, Union moves to 15-10 overall and 5-4 in the AAC. Bluefield falls to 13-11 on the season and is 2-7 in conference play.

Joe Gaines (SO/London, Ky.) got Union on the board quickly with a single down left field line followed by a sac bunt, a passed ball, and a wild pitch. Daniel Neal (SO/London, Ky.) scored in the second inning after reaching on a walk, and scoring on an RBI single from Chris Lane (JR/Battle Ground, Wash.).

After a pitching change in the top of the third inning from the Rams, Union tacked on three runs. Ronnie Healy (SR/Jupiter, Fla.) led off with his sixth homerun of the season on a 2-0 count. Ogando crossed home plate thank to a RBI single from Zane Britton (SO/Greeneville, Tenn.), and a wild throw from Bluefield's first baseman allowed another run.

Wonder Castillo (JR/Perth Amboy, N.J.) pitched a no-hitter up to the bottom of the fourth inning allowing just one hit throughout the entire game with five strikeouts.

The fourth and fifth inning remained scoreless for both the Rams and Bulldogs, but the sixth inning the Bulldogs added four insurance runs to their 5-0 lead. Michael Castillo (SR/New York, N.Y.) reached on walk, followed by an error from the right fielder allowing Bruce Valentin (SR/Bronx, N.Y.) to reach base. The Rams would intentionally walk Healy to load up the bases with one out. Ogando lined a double to center field, scoring all three runs. Ogando later scored on a single from designated hitter Pudge Morgan (FR/Glasgow, Ky.), giving the Bulldogs a 9-0 lead.

The Bulldogs would add another run off a RBI single from Ogando. The extra run in the top of the seventh would be enough for the run rule 10-0 to make it a seven inning game.

Austin Dingee (JR/Bay City, Mich.) came in for relief and shut down any production from the Bluefield lineup, not allowing any runs or hits with two strikeouts.

Gaines had a solid outing at the plate going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and one run. Healy, Morgan, and Lane all went 1-for-4 from the plate with one RBI. Britton went 1-for-3 with one RBI and a stolen base.

Bluefield's Jose Perez had the only hit of the game going 1-for-2 from the plate.
