KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Union College senior Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) earned All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) First Team honors with 10 others receiving honors from the league, the AAC announced Wednesday.

Other honorees include Brianna Adler (FR/Burlington, Ky.) making the All-Freshmen Team, Nannilena White (JR/Frankfort, Ky.) landing on the All-Defensive Team, and Sydney Jones (SO/Crestwood, Ky.) earning a spot on the Champions of Character Team. Jones is one of eight Bulldogs to make the Academic All-Conference Team along with Annalee Adams (JR/Pineville, Ky.), Taylor Brock (SR/Somerset, Ky. ), Taylor Dingess (SO/Williamsburg, Ky.), Morgan Garnett (JR/Pineville, Ky.), Reagan King (SR/Hindman, Ky.), Shelby Rudd (JR/Erlanger, Ky.), and Kaitlyn Stittums (JR/Harlan, Ky.).

The all-conference awards were announced at the 2017 AAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament, which is being held at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

Spence leads the team in scoring at 17.0 points per game and is the Bulldogs' top rebounder with 7.3 per game. She ranks fifth in NAIA Division II in field-goal percentage, connecting on 61.6 percent of her shots. Spence received AAC Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Adler averages 8.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She ended the regular season as the team's assist leader with 68 and has 57 steals on the year.

White has proven to be a pesky defender for Union, collecting 32 steals on the year. She also averages 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Union is 17-13 on the year and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the tournament with a 79-47 win over Allen (S.C.) on Wednesday. The Bulldogs face top-seeded Milligan (Tenn.) on Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
