BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Cheyanne Stidham (SO/Whitesburg, Ky.) registered a career-high 20 points to lift Union College past Tennessee Wesleyan with an 88-69 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win Wednesday.

The victory gets Union back to its winning ways as it improves to 16-10 overall record and 10-9 in conference play. Tennessee Wesleyan falls to 13-12 overall and 11-8 in the AAC.

Union came out firing as it made 18-of-42 from 3-point range, marking the third time this season it made 17 or more 3-pointers in a single game.

The momentum would stay with Union throughout the entire first half as Union stayed ahead of the Tennessee Wesleyan with a 44-39 lead at the half. Stidham came out on fire off the bench in the second quarter as she hits back-to-back field goals followed by a 3-pointer to give Union the lead with 1:42 left in the half. Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) would also dish out 10 points in the first half.

After the break, Union would still keep guns blazing as Reagan King (SR/Hindman, Ky.) and Stidham hit two more 3-pointers apiece at the beginning of the quarter. There was no turning back for Union as they increased the score to 68-58 into the fourth quarter.

Union steadily added to its lead in the fourth as it locked up the 88-69 victory.

Stidham paced all scorers with 20 points to go along with five assists. King and Dannika Prater (SO/Clarksville, Tenn.) would tally up 12 points apiece, followed by Spence with 11 points and six rebounds. Peyton Hisel (SR/Lexington, Ky.) chipped in 10 points as well.
