BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College head men's swimming and diving coach Rafael Forti announced the signing of Domenic Mazza to compete for the Bulldogs in 2017-18.

Mazza, a San Tan Valley, Ariz. native, signed his letter of intent this weekend. The past four years, Mazza has won Most Improved, Iron Man (hardest worker), and MVP award while just beginning to compete in swimming four years prior.

The son of Domenic and Shelley Mazza also enjoys other activities outside of swimming such as video production. In 2015, Mazza won first place in his school art show for Graphic Design. During his time at Union, Mazza plans to study mass media communication.

The 100 breast, 100 free, and 200 IM will be the events Mazza plans to focus on while swimming for the Bulldogs. Mazza also comments on his expectations on becoming a bulldog by stating "I'm looking to transform my swimming to the next level and furthering my education for my future."

"Domenic is a good addition to our roster for next year, and I am glad he has chosen Union to continue his academic and swimming careers," Forti said. "He will add more depth to our sprint events as well as create more options to our team relays. He has a lot of potential left to be explored, and we are excited to see how much he progresses in the next few years with us."
