MONTREAT, N.C. – The Union College women's basketball team cranked up its offense once more as it rolled to a 99-58 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory over host Montreat (N.C) on Saturday.

With the win, Union continues its winning ways as it improves to 15-8 overall and 9-7 in the AAC. Montreat falls to 9-11 overall and 6-10 in conference play.

For the second game in row, Union shot the ball extremely well from long rang. The Bulldogs drained 19 3-pointers, which is the second most in program history. Union hit 21 shots from beyond the arc on Nov. 4, 2006, in a 110-54 win over Ohio State University-Marion. Earlier this week, the Bulldogs hit 17 shots from long range.

Union shot 63.33 percent (19-of-30 shots) from 3-point range and 51.43 (36-of-70) percent from the field. While the Bulldogs sank 19 treys, no one made more than four as 11 different players made at least one 3-pointer.

The Bulldogs came ready to play today, putting the first points on the board as Cheyanne Stidham (SO/Whitesburg, Ky.) sunk a 3-point basket. Union would take the lead early in the first quarter 23-10. The second quarter would be just as successful for the Bulldogs as they kept their lead going into the second the half with a 20-point difference.

Union started the second frame the same as the first as Stidham drilled two back to back 3-point baskets and a field goal by Kasey Young (JR/Danville, Ky.) scoring the first eight points in under a minute. The Bulldogs owned a 48-28 halftime lead.

In the second half, Union coasted as it outscored Montreat 51-30 during the final two periods to collect the 99-58 victory.

This is the second 40-plus point win in a row for Union, which posted an 100-52 victory against St. Andrews on Wednesday.

Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) ended the night with a team-high 13 points, going 6-for-7 from the field. Stidham would be right behind her with 12 points and four assists, going 4-of-5 behind the arc. Jenna Mills (JR/Barbourville, Ky.) and Peyton Hisel (SR/Lexington, Ky.) would also ditch out 10 apiece.
