WEST POINT, Ga. – Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) led the Bulldogs with 18 points and five rebounds along with Dannika Prater (SO/Clarksville, Tenn.) registering 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists, but Union College fell to host Point (Ga.) 84-74 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Saturday evening.

Union kept Point on its feet the entire first half keeping the score within one-point difference for most of the first quarter, to then tie it up 15-all going into the second.

The second quarter brought some difficulty for the Bulldogs as the Skyhawks used a 12-6 run to end the half with a 42-36 lead.

Point tried to widen its margin during the third quarter, but a field goal by Aaliyah Lumson (JR/Mayfield, Ky.) would close the gap, pulling Union within one at the 4:26 mark. Point had the upper hand at the end of the third, closing out the frame on a 19-9 stretch to take an 11-point lead into the final period.

Beginning the fourth quarter down 67-56, Union would fight a hard battle but was unable to bounce back for a victory. Point pushed its lead to 16 early in the period. Union get the deficit down to nine but could not get any closer as Point recorded the 84-74 decision.

The loss brings Union's record to 13-8 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

Point had four in double digits with Candace Rhodes leading Point with 19 points.

Reagan King (SR/Hindman, Ky.) and Cheyanne Stidham (SO/Whitesburg, Ky.) would both dish out nine points and Lumson with seven.
