BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) was perfect from the floor in making all seven of her shots, but it was not enough to help Union College pick up the win as visiting Reinhardt (Ga.) claimed the 79-63 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory on Thursday.

The loss drops Union to 11-5 overall and 5-4 in the AAC, while Reinhardt improves to 16-1 overall and 8-1 in league play.

Spence had a solid game, going 7-for-7 from the floor in scoring a team-high 18 points. She also grabbed six rebounds and blocked four shots.

A sluggish third quarter did the Bulldogs. Trailing 33-29 at the half, Union cut the margin to two before an 8-1 run pushed Reinhardt's lead to 41-32 with 7:52 left. Kasey Young (JR/Danville, Ky.) capped a 6-0 Bulldog run with a layup to make it 41-38 at the 5:20 mark. However, the Lady Eagles closed out the frame on a 16-5 stretch to take a 57-43 advantage into the fourth.

Even though Reinhardt outscored Union 22-20 in the fourth, Union could not cut the margin any closer. The Lady Eagles led by as much as 68-48 and coasted to the 79-63 victory.

After Spence, Reagan King (SR/Hindman, Ky.) led Union in scoring with 11 points.

For Reinhardt, Rebecca Cheeks set the tone with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Bria White posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Sara Byers chipped in 14 points.
