BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College women's basketball team had four players finish in double-digits to capture its 10th win of the season with an 83-72 win over Allen (S.C.).

The Bulldogs now own a 10-2 overall record while sitting on top of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) with a 5-1 record. Allen falls to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

For the seventh time this season, Maci Spence (SR/Mt. Sterling, Ky. ) posted yet another double-double with 20 points and 10 boards, while Jenna Mills (JR/Barbourville, Ky.) posted a season-high 17 points going 4-for-5 from downtown. Dannika Prater (SO/Clarksville, Tenn.) and Katrina Johnson (FR/Pineville, Ky.) rounded out the top scorers for Union with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs saw themselves down as much as seven points at the conclusion of the first quarter. An old fashion three-point play from Spence knotted the game up 13-13 at the 2:20 mark. However, Allen went on a 10-3 run take the 23-16 lead heading into the second quarter.

Union came out in the second frame and quickly erased the seven point deficit and flipped the momentum. A 3-pointer from Cheyanne Stidham (SO/Whitesburg, Ky.) with 1:30 remaining in the half pushed the Bulldogs lead out to 42-34. The difference maker in the offensively surge for Union was the success at the free-throw line. The Bulldogs were 10-for 15 at the stripe, while the Yellow Jackets only attempted four shots from the line.

The third quarter consisted back-and-forth play from both sides as Union was able to hang on to an eight-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. A 3-pointer from Union's Brianna Adler (FR/Burlington, Ky.) with 1:02 minute left in regulation capped off a 6-0 run to give the Bulldogs the push they needed down the stretch to secure the 11 point victory over Allen.

Kamya Thomas led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points going 7-for-12 from the field.
