BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College women's basketball team received votes in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs are four spots outside the top 25 at No. 29 overall. Union earned this ranking in the first regular-season edition after starting the season not ranked in the preseason poll. The next regular-season poll will be released on Dec. 13.

Union received 40 votes in result of starting the season off on a strong note, winning its first seven games before falling to now-No. 20 Southeastern (Fla.). Dakota Wesleyan now owns the No. 1 spot with a perfect 9-0 record as Marian (Ind.) falls to the No. 2 after being knocked off by fellow Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Tennessee Wesleyan.

The Bulldogs currently are averaging 78.8 points per game as a team and holding its opponents to 69.6 points per game. Union is shooting 43.5 percent from the field while hitting 33.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Individually, Maci Spence leads the team in several categories which includes scoring (19.2 points per game), field-goal percentage (61.6 percent) and rebounds (83). She ranks in the top 10 in NAIA in field-goal percentage, total points and rebounds. Brianna Adler adds 9.9 points per game and leads the team with 13 steals and is shooting 80.0 percent from the charity strip.

Overall, Union is 8-1 on the season and 3-0 in AAC play. The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday as the team travels to Truett McConnell (Ga.) for a conference showdown. First whistle is set for 5:30 p.m.
