SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Union College volleyball team opens pool play on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT in the NAIA National Championships against the third-ranked squad from Hastings (Neb.).

The tournament is being held at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Union (33-9 overall) is making its first-ever trip at the final site, but this is the team's fifth appearance in the national tournament. The Bulldogs are led by Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Year Rachel Andrews (JR/Louisville, Ky. ), who leads the team with 362 kills and ranks 29th nationally in hitting percentage at 0.323.

All-AAC first teamer Marissa Elam (JR/Muncie, Ind.) has 333 kills on the year, while Julia Edmonds (SR/Burlington, Ky.), another first team All-AAC selection, ranks 30th in the NAIA in total blocks at 129. All-AAC second team member Paulina Hileman (JR/Johnstown, Colo.) boasts 744 digs on the year, which ranks fifth most in program history.

Hastings (26-3 overall) is led by Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Player of the Year Logan Drueppel, who ranks first nationally in hitting percentage (0.433) and blocks per game (1.730). Drueppel also has 288 kills and 168 blocks on the year.
