CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Union College women's bowling registered a sixth-place finish at the Green River Classic over the weekend, narrowly missing out on cracking the top five.

The tournament was held at Phillips Lanes in Campbellsville, Ky., and hosted by Campbellsville University.

Following Saturday's team play rounds, Union sat fifth in the standings but held only a two pin advantage over Spring Hill College (Ala.). Union tallied a 3,969 pin fall with Spring Hill checking with 3,967.

In Sunday's Baker games, Union compiled a total score of 2,000 to finish the tournament with 5,969. Yet, Spring Hill finished the final day's play with a score of 2,058 for a tournament total of 6,025 to edge out Union for fifth place.

Host Campbellsville won the event with a total tally of 6,662, while University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), Tennessee Wesleyan University and Morehead State University (Ky.) rounded out the top four.

In all, 10 teams competed in the field.

Individually, Julia Edenfield led the way with a 12-th place finish. She posted a total score of 842 with a high game of 212.

Union will compete at the Louisville Collegiate Classic on Saturday and the Thomas Burris Memorial Classic on Sunday. Both are being held in Louisville, Ky.
