LONDON, Ky. – The Union College women's and men's golf teams competed in the first day of the Bill Sergent Invitational which is hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) on Monday.

On the men's side, the team currently sits in second place with an overall score of 303. Cumberlands holds first place with a team score of 300 after the first round.

Individually, Erik Hermasson paces the way for the Bulldogs after firing a 74 in the first round, which ties him for second place with Marian's (Ind.) Joseph Leja. Rounding out the top 10 finishes of the day for Union was Andy Dusek (SR/Woking, England) and Simon Berglund round out Union's top 10 finishes as both shot a 76 to land eighth overall.

The Union women ended the first round with an overall score 365. Alexis Gibson led the Bulldogs in firing an 84 while Lesley Roy (JR/Russell Springs, Ky.) registered an 87. Elsewhere, Ana Owens (SO/Gray, Ky.) recorded a total score of 91.
