COVINGTON, Ga. – In a tight field on the final day of the SCAD-Atlanta Fall Invitational, the Union College men's golf team posted a second-place finish out of seven teams.

Overall, the Bulldogs kicked off their 2016 Fall season on a strong note. The team collected a final round score of 287 after registering a 281 in the first round. The Bulldogs finished with a two-day score of 568. Point (Ga.) who was one shot behind Union after the first round made a final push on day two to end with a total score of 560 taking home the first-place finish.

Simon Berglund led the field for Union, firing a three-under par 68 which tied him for an overall first-place finish (137) with Faulkner's Matthew Nuttall.  

Elsewhere, Erik Hermansson (JR/Gothenburg, Sweden) finished tied for fifth placed with a two-day score of 141 (68-73). Rounding out the top performances for the Bulldogs in the tournament was Nick Blankenship (SR/Ashland, Ky. ) who ended in a tie for 14th with a combined score of 144 (69-75).

The Bulldogs return to action Sept. 12-13, taking part in the Bill Sergent Fall Invitational which is hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Crooked Creek Golf Course in London, Ky.
