ATLANTA, Ga. – The Union College men's golf team is off to a strong start in their 2016 Fall schedule as the Bulldogs lead the way after day one of the SCAD-Atlanta Fall Invitational.

As a team, the Bulldogs fired an impressive overall score of 281 which was three shots under par. They hold a one shot lead over Point (Ga.) who finished second (282) and a six point lead over Reinhardt (Ga.) who sits in third (287) after day one of play.

Erik Hermansson (JR/Gothenburg, Sweden) not only leads Union but also is tied for first in the field with a total score of 68. The Bulldogs also have Simon Berglund and Nick Blankenship (SR/Ashland, Ky. ) rounding out the top five scores of the day, firing a 69 which was good enough for a fourth-place finish. Alasdair Ross (SR/Fort William, Scotland) rounds out the group of leaders with an overall score of 75.

Union looks to hold its lead heading into the final day of the SCAD-Atlanta Fall Invitational tomorrow which is being held at The Oaks Golf Course In Covington, Ga.
