BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Union College men's and women's bowling teams competed in the 2016 Mid-South Conference Championships on Saturday at Southern Lanes.

The men's team finished the day going 1-2 in the tournament, while the women's squad advanced to the semifinals in the winner's bracket before having their tournament run come to an end and finishing 2-2 overall.

After dropping their opening match in game to Cumberland University, the Union men defeated University of Cumberlands before then falling to Campbellsville University in seven games ending their day at the MSC Championships. Martin Methodist brought home the MSC title after defeating the 2015 champions, Pikeville.

Michael Ingram (JR/Memphis, Tenn.) led the team collecting a 14th place finish with a total pinfall of 1000. 

On the women's side things begun for the sixth-seeded Bulldogs in the first round, defeating Tennessee Wesleyan to move on in the winner's bracket. Next up against third-seeded Lindenwood University-Belleville, Union captured the upset winning in six.

However, following the LU-Belleville win, the Bulldogs suffered a setback in the winner's bracket semi-final game against Campbellsville to be sent to the consolation bracket. Then there Union had their run at the title come to an end in the hands of St. Catherine in four games. Pikeville went on to win the MSC title for the second consecutive year.

Katelynn George (SR/Crowley, Texas) paced the women with an overall score of 813 recording a 29th place finish.
