BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Union College women's bowling team finished fifth at the Southern Kentucky Collegiate Classic over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Union men's team placed ninth at the event. 

The Bulldog women's team knocked down a total of 6,284 pins in the two-day event. Individually, Sabrina Yearling (FR) led Union at the event, finishing in a tie for fifth overall with a total pin count of 991 for the two-day event. Yearling's best game came in her first on Saturday, where she posted a 217. She ended the event going over 200 pins once again, rolling a 203 in her fifth and final game of the Classic.

Finishing right behind Yearling in the final overall standings was teammate Katelynn George (JR/Crowley, Texas), who rolled a 974 total in the two-day event to finish seventh overall. George got off to a hot start in the Classic, posting a 288 in the first round of competition on Saturday.

Rounding out the top individuals on the women's side was Marissa Campbell (JR/Brighton, Mich.), who finished 16th with a total of 875, Kendall Lane (FR), who placed 27th with a two-day score of 815, and Kylee Saunders (SO/Hixson, Tenn.), who was 29th with a total of 814 pins.

On the men's side, Jonathan Courtney (SR/Georgetown, Ky.) had the Bulldogs' highest finish in 20th with a total score of 913. Raymond Repaci (FR) rounded out the top performances for the men's team, finishing 39th at 836 pins for the weekend. 

The Union College women's bowling team returns to action on Oct. 18, taking part in the UPike Orange and Black Classic in Dayton, Ohio. The men's team will be back in action on Oct. 25 at the Boilermaker Classic in Lafayette, Indiana.
